The Conference Behind East Africa’s Energy Decade
The region’s premier oil & gas platform, convened by the EAC
The East African Community (EAC) is a regional intergovernmental organization of eight Partner States — Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda — home to roughly 320 million people and a combined GDP of about $320 billion.
The East African Petroleum Conference and Exhibition was first held in 2003 and has, every two years since, become the region’s premier platform for dialogue, investment promotion and strategic networking in the oil and gas sector. It brings together policymakers, regulators, national oil companies, international energy companies, investors, financiers, technology providers, researchers and development partners to exchange knowledge, showcase investment opportunities and strengthen collaboration across East Africa’s petroleum industry.
“From Energy Resources to Prosperity: Driving Energy Security, Growth and Global Competitiveness.”
The theme conveys the growing importance of petroleum resources in supporting economic resilience, industrialization and sustainable development — and recognizes that petroleum retains its strategic role amid evolving global energy markets, shifting geopolitics and rising demand for secure, reliable energy. EAPCE’27 will explore ongoing exploration and new discoveries, investment in production, transportation and storage infrastructure, and how the region can turn its natural resources into shared prosperity through regional cooperation and responsible resource development.
